Holland & Barrett has appointed Michelle Boothroyd as chief people officer.

Joining the company’s executive leadership team, Boothroyd will lead Holland & Barrett’s people strategy, with a focus on developing its culture, talent and capabilities.

Boothroyd brings experience in people leadership and organisational development to the health store business, most recently as chief people officer at rental property company Grainger, following senior roles at Nationwide Building Society, Santander and NatWest Group.

Boothroyd said: “My focus is on ensuring we have the culture, skills and opportunities that enable our colleagues to do their best work and grow with the business.”

“It’s a fantastic foundation to build on, and I’m excited about the opportunity to make Holland & Barrett an even better place to work, where everyone can thrive.”

Anthony Houghton, chief executive of Holland & Barrett, said: “Michelle brings a wealth of experience in building strong cultures and helping people and organisations realise their potential.”

Boothroyd takes the place of Maria Anderson, who joined Holland & Barrett in 2020 and was appointed chief people officer in 2022.
