Advertising and marketing group WPP has appointed Mark Taylor as its new global chief people officer.
Taylor joins from LEGO Group, where he served as chief people advisor, working at board and ownership level on executive hiring and HR transformation. Earlier in his career, he was chief people officer at Burberry, where he contributed to the company's digital transformation, and held HR leadership roles at King, GlaxoSmithKline and Kimberly-Clark, where he led HR for the EMEA region.
The appointment splits WPP's top HR role in two. Marie-Claire Barker, who had served as global chief people officer since 2025, moves into a newly created position, chief people officer, performance and culture, reporting alongside Taylor rather than being replaced by him. According to reports, Taylor's remit covers the structural design of WPP's workforce transformation, while Barker's role focuses on implementation, performance and culture.
