Kier appoints Niki Steel as chief human resources officer

Infrastructure services, construction and property group Kier has appointed Niki Steel to its executive committee as chief human resources officer.

Steel joins Kier from IMI, a multinational engineering company, where she has served as chief people officer for sector operations for the past two years. Her career spans more than two decades, including senior HR and operational roles across the home technology, digital education media and visual effects sectors, at companies including Pearson and Dyson Group.

In her new role, Steel will be responsible for leading people strategy across Kier's workforce of around 10,000 employees, with a particular focus on performance, talent development and organisational capability, according to Construction Management.

Kier chief executive Stuart Togwell said: "Niki is a fantastic addition to Kier and our executive committee. She is a highly experienced HR and operational leader, with a strong track record of driving performance across organisations in both the UK and across the globe."
